Miriam Perez, Founder

Hello! I am Miriam, the founder of Coqui Trave Plus. I have been in the travel industry for over 40 years not to mention born and raised in my beautiful island of "Puerto Rico". I arrived in NYC when I was 17 yrs. old to study in the States. I obtained a business degree but wanted more than that. I started my career as a TSA agent for Pan America until they ceased operation in 1991. My family and I decided to move to DE. While I no longer worked at the airport or for an airline, I found myself always helping people with their travel needs. Upon moving to de I found many people skeptical and afraid to travel, so this is where my new journey begins... In 2001, I decided to put my expertise to work and opened the doors for Coqui Travel Plus in Seaford, DE, along with the assistance of my husband and daughter.

Hi everyone! My name is Delhaila, many of my family and friends call me "Dee". I'm the daughter of Miriam. I've been traveling since the time I was in my mother's belly. My mother worked for TSA and was then promoted to Immigration back in 1985. My life in the '80s was similar to Reality TV; I was around planes, TSA agents, security guards, pilots, and other airport staff. While being at the airport I became intrigued with planes....not sure why I did not become a pilot. My very first unaccompanied flight was at the age of 10. I'm very comfortable traveling to other countries accompanied or solo and love to walk the corridors. For first-time travelers, I can be your "co-pilot or travel eyes". I'm very detail-oriented, organized, and passionate in what I do, and love to share my travel stories; with that asset, I can assist you every step of the way.
